We get it – some years you just can’t find the time to host Thanksgiving at home. But if you still want to treat your family to an unforgettable Thanksgiving dinner, there are more than a few Philly restaurants for you to rely on.
The Twisted Tail: This laid-back saloon just off of South Street serves family-style meals for the Thanksgiving holiday. You can go for the traditional turkey, or change things up with a bit of prime rib. Plus, it’s hard to beat hosting family dinner at a whiskey bar.
London Grill: This buffet-style Thanksgiving meal includes all the fixings you’ve come to expect, and then some. Just be sure to make a reservation beforehand! $45 includes soup, buffet, and dessert, while kids 11 and under are half-price.
City Tavern: If you want to go super-traditional, you can celebrate Thanksgiving the way the Founding Fathers might have. The very bar that once served up beers to the likes of Ben Franklin and Alexander Hamilton also hosts a four-course dinner every Thanksgiving. You’ll even be entertained by strolling musicians and enjoy a fine Madeira with your dessert.
Moshulu: Eating a heavy meal while on a boat may seem counterintuitive, but the three-course Thanksgiving option on the Moshulu at Penn’s Landing is another story. If the waterfront atmosphere isn’t enough to inspire holiday cheer, then the lobster on the menu just might do the trick.
