Dickinson Narrows is another neighborhood in South Philadelphia. The area is often referred to as Philadelphia’s “newest old” neighborhood. The area’s Jewish heritage can still be seen today, specifically in the art mural near Mifflin Square. Visit Mural at Mifflin Square.
This neighborhood has a renowned public park, Dickinson Square, which is located on east side of the neighborhood. Like surrounding neighborhoods, Dickinson Narrows is often combined and even sometimes confused with its adjacent neighborhoods such as Pennsport and Queen Village but make no mistake this area has its own flare.
